Description:
The SM1020 family of function, arbitrary
waveform, and pulse generators offers a complete set
of modular solutions to a wide range of test stimulus
requirements. Each SM1020 series board occupies a single,
full size PC ISA bus slot. The four members of the product
family can either be used independently or in combination
to provide modulated or synchronized waveforms.
Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) is used
in all SM1020 series generators. DDS delivers accurate
output at any frequency for either standard or arbitrary
waveforms. All signals are synthesized using a constant
point update rate well above the output frequency. The
result is output signals that are free of the low frequency
aliases that are characteristic of generators using
a variable clock rate to output stored standard waveforms.
PC overhead is kept to a minimum. SM1020
series generators operate independent of the PC once
signal parameters have been set. Ten standard waveforms
are available. The arbitrary wave function is implemented
with an 8K-sample memory. ARB setup is very straightforward
requiring only an ASCII table that can easily be output
from a spreadsheet.
The virtual front panel provides mouse
point and click control of the SM1020 in DOS or Windows.
Drivers are provided for Visual Basic, C, and ATEasy.
