The SMX4030 Series are the only switching
modules for PXI/CompactPCI specifically designed for measurements.
They feature 35-channel relay-switching that is designed for
use in applications requiring precision signal switching.
The switching module is controlled with high-level commands
to its on-board controller. The controller simplifies programming
and minimizes the overhead typical and book-keeping associated
with other switching modules. It also simplifies on the fly
configuration of 2-Wire, 4-Wire, and 6-Wire switching applications.
The very low thermal EMF and noise of the SMX4032 are a must
for very accurate measurements of resistance or precise voltages,
and for testing various sensors and transducers. Each of the
relays can be automatically routed using pre-defined configurations,
or controlled individually. All switching actions are performed
within a single actuation time of less than 5 milliseconds.
The SMX4030 is an economical PXI/cPCI Switching Module,
yet it has lower noise than other similar products for measurement
applications. The SMX4032 adds isolated structure, and super-low
thermal EMFs, a must for resistance measurements. It is designed
for more demanding applications requiring lower noise and
higher precision.
For manual operation, or system verification, the provided
GUI of the SMX4030 appears on your PC monitor. All relays
are depicted on this virtual front panel, with additional
control functions in the top menu. You can control these instruments
without needing any programming, however it is supplied with
a SDK to allow for configuration using TestPoint, ATEasy,
Matlab, VisualBasic, LabView®, LabWindows/CVI®, C++,
Delphi or other software packages under windows or Linux.
For ease of use, three optional modules are available.
The standard Screw Terminal Block is the SMX40, the
Screw Terminal Block with Isothermal structure and block
temperature sensor for use with Thermocouples is the
SMX40T, and the loopback test module is the SM40L.
